A sudden layoff left Grace short on rent for 2 months; help us stay in our home.

After a sudden layoff at the textile factory, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Friday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $400.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $400 goes:
• Late fees and court costs: $50
• Rent arrears (2 months): $300
• Utilities in arrears: $50
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Rooting for you, Grace. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. God bless!

Hope things get better soon, Grace. I hope things turn around soon.
Thinking of you, Grace. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
I hope things turn around soon. Please keep us posted. Greetings from Dar es Salaam
thanks for sharing this, Grace. Shared this with my family. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. All the best!
Wishing you the best, Grace. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Thane.
Stay strong, Grace. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Best of luck. Hope this works out for you. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. God bless
So sorry you're going through this, Grace. Looking forward to the next update. After 12 years in social work I know how hard it is to ask for anything.
