Keep a roof over Gloria's head in Birmingham
The loss of a second income left Gloria short on rent for 4 months; help us stay in our home.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom770 views
When my hours were cut in half in February, I fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Monday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $950.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by April, we must leave.
I've 4 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $950 goes:
• Late fees and court costs: $95
• First month of rent as a buffer: $700
• Utilities in arrears: $155
Every share and every dollar helps.

Wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Paris this morning
Good luck, Gloria. It takes guts to ask. Well done.
