Keep a roof over Ghassan's head in Milan
After a delayed insurance payout, Ghassan is 4 months behind on rent and has a final eviction notice from the landlord.
🇮🇹 Milan, Lombardy, Italy1,694 views
After a sudden layoff at the packaging plant, Ghassan fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Thursday a final eviction notice was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $2,250.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by January, the family must leave.
There are 1 children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Ghassan has started working weekend shifts, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Utilities in arrears: $170
• Rent arrears (4 months): $1,600
• First month of rent as a buffer: $480

sending strength, Osama. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
is there anything that isn't money that would help Ghassan?
Thank you. If you're in Milan I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks, that means a lot.
