A court summons for non-payment arrived last week. Genet needs $350 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Addis Ababa.

When my hours were cut in half in June, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Monday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $350.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $350 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $70
• Utilities in arrears: $20
• Rent arrears (3 months): $260
