Keep a roof over Faisal's head in Gujranwala
A sudden layoff left Faisal short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇵🇰 Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan1,418 views
After a sudden layoff at the packaging plant, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a final eviction notice was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $400.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by April, we must leave.
I've 3 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $400 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $115
• Late fees and court costs: $30
• Rent arrears (3 months): $255
Thanks for being kind about this.

Keep going, Faisal. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day!
Good luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 13 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Blessings.
Thinking of you and your family. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Blessings.
