A 10-day notice to quit arrived last week. Eli needs $2,800 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Tel Aviv.

When my hours were cut in half in June, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $2,800.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $1,500
• Late fees and court costs: $180
• Utilities in arrears: $230
• First month of rent as a buffer: $890

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Eli!
Sure. The biggest one is rent arrears (2 months), $1,500. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Good question.
