Following a long illness in the family, Claudia fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a final eviction notice was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $2,700.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by January, the family must leave.
There are a toddler and a baby at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Claudia has started working weekend shifts, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Claudia.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rent arrears (3 months) comes first ($1,450) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Good question.
