Keep a roof over Charles's head in Aberdeen
The loss of a second income left Charles short on rent for 4 months; help us stay in our home.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom801 views
Following a long illness in the family, Charles fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a court summons for non-payment was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $2,350.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by January, the family must leave.
There are a toddler and a baby at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Charles has started working extra hours at a market stall, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Rent arrears (4 months): $1,550
• Late fees and court costs: $300
• Utilities in arrears: $120
• First month of rent as a buffer: $380
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
