Keep a roof over Alexander's head in Montréal
The closure of the factory left Alexander short on rent for 4 months; help us stay in our home.

After a sudden layoff at the restaurant, Alexander fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a final eviction notice was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $3,700.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by June, the family must leave.
There are a toddler and a baby at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Alexander has started working evenings as a cleaner, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $3,700 goes:
• Rent arrears (4 months): $2,500
• Late fees and court costs: $270
• Utilities in arrears: $220
• First month of rent as a buffer: $710
