Keep a roof over Abubakar's head in Epe
After a car accident, Abubakar is 3 months behind on rent and has a termination letter from the landlord.

After a sudden layoff at the textile factory, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $450.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by May, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $220
• Late fees and court costs: $30
• Utilities in arrears: $40
• First month of rent as a buffer: $160
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
- due date
- 2025-05-31
- bill type
- Rent arrears

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Abubakar
Sure. The biggest one is rent arrears (3 months), $220. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
Hang in there, Abubakar. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
