Kazuki's acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment fund

Kazuki is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In September I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. My oncology team at Shinjuku Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in November. I was told to expect about 12 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 27, I worked as a hairdresser until September, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Shinjuku Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $4,950 goes: • Scans and lab work: $1,150 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,900 • Household costs while unable to work: $900 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Kazuki
