Karthik served eight years; now needs help to get home
A navy veteran in Chennai needs help with a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment after leaving service with hearing damage and PTSD.

I served eight years in the navy and was discharged in 2024 with hearing damage and PTSD. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote I have comes to $800.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $800 goes:
• Housing deposit and first month: $320
• Training provider fees: $450
• Essential household items: $30
Thank you so much.
