I make my living with my delivery van. 5 weeks ago the suspension failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $300. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $300 goes: • Labor charges: $35 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $45 • suspension replacement (parts): $220 Thanks for reading all this. - Kariuki

Updates from Kariuki

  1. Small update. $26 so far, we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.

  2. Update from Mombasa: the plan for suspension replacement is now scheduled. We're at 9% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($16 in total) the plan for road tax and insurance renewal is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • Praying for you. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We're a small family in Hyderabad but we're thinking of you.

    • Rooting for you. Hope the shop reopens soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Envigado.

      • Rooting for you. Shared this with my family. I hope July is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Mombasa.
