Kalyani was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in August. The surgeon at Nagpur Orthopedic Institute recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $270, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $200 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Nagpur Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $270 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Kalyani struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Kalyani won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
