Kalliopi was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at Saint Anne Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,700, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $2,350 short. my wife has been in and out of Saint Anne Hospital since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,700 is more than we can find. While we wait, Kalliopi struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Kalliopi won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
