Kai needs a specialist standing frame - help us make it happen
Kai needs a specialist standing frame that the health system won't fund; the cost is $950.

I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at Brooklyn General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $950.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $950 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $210
• First-year servicing plan: $330
• Fitting and training sessions: $410
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Thanks for sharing this, Kai. I hope things turn around soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Thinking of you and your family. Wishing Kai a smooth procedure and a full recovery. All the best.
