Justice shouldn't depend on a bank balance: Sebastião's wage-theft claim
Sebastião needs $200 for filing fees and representation in a wage-theft claim before the December deadline.

I'm facing a wage-theft claim. My hearing is scheduled for December, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $200. I have been told by three legal-aid offices that their waiting list is longer than my deadline.
I have all of my paperwork ready, and my caseworker at the Maringá Community Legal Centre has confirmed that my case is valid.
If I miss the deadline I could lose my right to stay with my family and my job. My children were born here and this is the only home they know.
I'll share any non-sensitive updates as the case moves along.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $200 goes:
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $45
• Filing and biometrics fees: $130
• Certified translations and document copies: $25
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Take care, Sebastião. Hope this works out for you. Greetings from Buffalo
So sorry you're going through this, Sebastião. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best
Hope you get there. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Maringá.
