Justice shouldn't depend on a bank balance: Leonardo's custody modification
Leonardo needs $750 for filing fees and representation in a custody modification before the September deadline.

I'm facing a custody modification. My hearing is scheduled for September, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $750. I have been told by three legal-aid offices that their waiting list is longer than my deadline.
I have all of my paperwork ready, and my caseworker at Coyoacán Welcome Centre has confirmed that my case is valid.
If I miss the deadline I could lose my right to stay with my family and my job. My children were born here and this is the only home they know.
I'll share any non-sensitive updates as the case moves along.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $750 goes:
• Attorney retainer: $540
• Filing and biometrics fees: $145
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $65
Thanks for reading all this.

Best of luck, Leonardo. Looking forward to the next update. Wish I lived closer to Sandton so I could bring a meal.
You're not alone, Leonardo. Shared it with a few friends. I have a 15 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Take care
Looking forward to the next update. We're a small family in Dwarka but we're thinking of you.
