Jung-ho was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in June. The oncology team at the Fresno Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Jung-ho is 57, worked as a tailor until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Fresno Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $9,750 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $670
• Scans and lab work: $1,600
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,250
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,230
