Joseph can't leave home - help build a ramp

Help Joseph regain independence: a simple ramp build.

Joseph has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Joseph can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Joseph's family will cook lunch for the team. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • Thanks for sharing this. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Montréal donated after I showed her your page

    • Hope it all works out, Waweru. Get well soon. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
