Supporting José through thyroid cancer: medication, transport to Rochester Cancer Centre, and living costs while He can't work.

José was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in July. The oncology team at Rochester Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
José is 27, worked as a bakery worker until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Rochester Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $6,950 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,200
• Scans and lab work: $1,500
• Transport to Rochester Cancer Centre: $430
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $270
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,550
