Jorge was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in December. The surgeon at Petrópolis General Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and He is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,250, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,800 short.
my father has been in and out of Petrópolis General Hospital since December. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Jorge struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Jorge won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
