Jorge's cataract surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
Jorge needs cataract surgery at Buenos Aires University Hospital and the family is $1,750 short of the hospital's estimate.

Jorge was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in August. The surgeon at Buenos Aires University Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,200, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,750 short.
my son has been in and out of Buenos Aires University Hospital since August. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,200 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Jorge struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Jorge won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,750 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $480
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $840
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $115
• Post-operative medication: $70
• Physiotherapy sessions: $220
• Travel and lodging for the family: $25
Thank you so much.
