Jordan needs a powered wheelchair that the health system won't fund; the cost is $5,700.

I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the Los Angeles Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $5,700.
My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $5,700 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $5,000
• Fitting and training sessions: $270
• Delivery and set-up: $130
• First-year servicing plan: $300
