Jimena was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in May. The surgeon at Bakersfield University Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,500, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $3,150 short.
my mother has been in and out of Bakersfield University Hospital since May. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Jimena struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
