Jemima was diagnosed with cervical cancer in October. The oncology team at Accra Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in January. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Jemima is 51, worked as a hairdresser until October, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Accra Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,350 goes: • Scans and lab work: $195 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,050 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $105 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • Keep going. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.

    • Hope it all works out, Efua. Wishing Jemima a smooth procedure and a full recovery.
