Jakarta Selatan volcanic eruption relief - the Harbor settlement
After the volcanic eruption, families in the Harbor settlement need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The volcanic eruption hit the Harbor settlement on 12 August. My home was one of 62 damaged, and 12 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $310
• Clean water and purification supplies: $155
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $135
• Food parcels for displaced families: $110
• Tools and labor for repairs: $340
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Sending good thoughts. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Jakarta Selatan.
Thanks for sharing this, Ani. Great idea, hope you get there.
Hang in there, Ani. More neighborhoods should do this. Thinking of Jakarta Selatan
Take care, Ani. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 29 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best
