Jacaranda Primary School needs a rainwater harvesting system - Sadia's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Rawalpindi are raising $100 for a rainwater harvesting system at Jacaranda Primary School.
🇵🇰 Pakistan309 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $100.
It will serve about 86 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $100 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $60
• Permits and inspections: $10
Thanks for reading all this.
