Isla needs my delivery van repaired to get back to work in Riverside
Isla drives for a living in Riverside, and a broken suspension has stopped all income for 6 weeks.
🇺🇸 United States1,052 views
I make my living with my delivery van. 6 weeks ago the suspension failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,850. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• suspension replacement (parts): $910
• Labor charges: $450
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $350
• Towing and inspection: $140
Thanks for being kind about this.
Updates from Isla
Thank you all. We're at 39% now ($723). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward suspension replacement.
Small update. $547 so far, we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
Update from Riverside: we've started the first stage. We're at 8% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

Thanks for sharing this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Mumbai but we're thinking of you. God bless.
Sending good thoughts, Isla. Hope the shop reopens soon. Blessings.
Good luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 22 years in hospitality I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Take care
Hope it all works out. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Love from Gold Coast.
Take care, Isla. Hope the shop reopens soon. All the best
Small businesses are the heart of Riverside. Hope you're open again soon. I'll check back for the next update. Blessings.
Take care. Shared this with my family. Love from Surakarta
