In December an inspector told me that my home has a failed boiler with no heating. It's a safety risk for me and my elderly mother. The landlord has refused to act, and quotes of $200 are beyond us.
I'm looking for a licensed HVAC technician who may be able to donate a few hours or do the repair at cost. I can cover the parts, which I estimate at $25.
The job should take about eight hours. I'll make sure someone is home and will provide refreshments. I can share the inspector's written report on request.
If you're a HVAC technician and can help, or know a program that assists with this sort of repair, I'd really appreciate it.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Sending strength, Patricia. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps.
Thanks for sharing this, Patricia. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Love from Johannesburg
stay strong, Patricia. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Love from Riverside.
Hope things get better soon, Patricia. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
