Irene's spinal decompression surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled spinal decompression surgery in May is out of reach without help covering $800 of the cost.

In March I was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections. My surgeon at Kampala Orthopedic Institute recommended spinal decompression surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for May. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,150, and after what the public health scheme will pay, I'm still $800 short.
Doctors at Kampala Orthopedic Institute told me gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. I work as a delivery rider, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,150 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a delivery rider have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. I'll not be able to stand for more than ten minutes during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
