Irene's acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment fund
12 rounds of treatment are planned at Nairobi Regional Medical Center; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

Irene was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in August. The oncology team at Nairobi Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Irene is 42, worked as a bus conductor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Nairobi Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,000 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,300
• Scans and lab work: $310
• Transport to Nairobi Regional Medical Center: $115
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $80
• Household costs while unable to work: $195
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Hope it all works out. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Love from Aberdeen.
