Irena was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in December. The surgeon at Katowice Regional Medical Center recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and She is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,300, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $2,150 short.
my mother has been in and out of Katowice Regional Medical Center since December. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,300 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Irena struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Irena won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
