Irena was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in July. The surgeon at Warsaw Regional Medical Center recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,600, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $2,300 short.
my mother has been in and out of Warsaw Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,600 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Irena struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Irena won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
