Inés was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in July. The surgeon at Alcalá de Henares Orthopedic Institute recommended emergency hernia repair, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $10,500, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $6,300 short.
my mother has been in and out of Alcalá de Henares Orthopedic Institute since July. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $10,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Inés struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Inés won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
