Independence for Yash: stair-climbing aid
Yash needs a stair-climbing aid that the health system won't fund; the cost is $850.
🇮🇳 Punjab, India718 views
Yash lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the Amritsar Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $850.
His current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment Yash could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $850 goes:
• stair-climbing aid: $730
• Fitting and training sessions: $45
• Delivery and set-up: $30
• First-year servicing plan: $45
Every share and every dollar helps.
