Vincenzo lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Bologna Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,750.
His current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment Vincenzo could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $6,750 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $210
• prosthetic leg: $6,250
• First-year servicing plan: $290

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Vincenzo.
Sure. The biggest one is fitting and training sessions, $210. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
