I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at Moscow General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,400. My current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment I could speak with the people around him. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $1,400 goes: • First-year servicing plan: $55 • Delivery and set-up: $40 • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $1,305 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • Wishing you the best, Viktor. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.

    • sending good thoughts, Viktor. Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
