I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at Mardan General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $400. My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 6 weeks. With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $400 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $290 • Fitting and training sessions: $50 • Delivery and set-up: $25 • First-year servicing plan: $35 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
