Ties needs a prosthetic leg that the health system won't fund; the cost is $2,800.

Ties lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at the Amsterdam Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,800.
His current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Ties could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $2,400
• Fitting and training sessions: $105
• Delivery and set-up: $70
• First-year servicing plan: $225
