I live with multiple sclerosis. My occupational therapist at the Nagpur Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,000.
My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• braille note-taker: $890
• Fitting and training sessions: $25
• Delivery and set-up: $25
• First-year servicing plan: $60
