Ryan lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the London Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $7,200.
His current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment Ryan could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $7,200 goes:
• pair of hearing aids: $6,750
• Fitting and training sessions: $230
• Delivery and set-up: $70
• First-year servicing plan: $150
