Independence for Ruth: pair of hearing aids
Ruth needs a pair of hearing aids that the health system won't fund; the cost is $4,200.

Ruth lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Wollongong Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,200.
Her current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment Ruth could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $4,200 goes:

• Fitting and training sessions: $270
• Delivery and set-up: $65
• First-year servicing plan: $365
