I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at the Zapopan Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,450. My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment I could speak with the people around her. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $1,450 goes: • specialist standing frame: $1,250 • First-year servicing plan: $105 • Fitting and training sessions: $95 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Rocío.

    • Sure. The biggest one is specialist standing frame, $1,250. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Good question.

  • keep going. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.

    • Hope this works out for you. I hope July is when things finally get easier.
