Independence for Ratna: cochlear implant processor upgrade
Ratna needs a cochlear implant processor upgrade that the health system won't fund; the cost is $750.

Ratna lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at the Malang Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $750.
Her current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Ratna could speak with the people around her. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $750 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $50
• Delivery and set-up: $15
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $685
Thank you for reading my story.

Hang in there. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Guadalajara
So sorry you're going through this. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. God bless
is there anything that isn't money that would help Ratna?
Thank you. If you're in Malang I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for looking so closely.
sending good thoughts, Jihan. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Chattogram.
So sorry you're going through this, Jihan. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Ottawa.
Sending love. Shared this with my family. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Greetings from Thủ Đức.
