Independence for Parvathi: adapted tricycle
Help Parvathi get an adapted tricycle so She can go to school independently.
🇮🇳 Rajkot, Gujarat, India622 views
I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the Rajkot Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended an adapted tricycle. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $550.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $550 goes:
• adapted tricycle: $470
• Fitting and training sessions: $40
• First-year servicing plan: $40
With deep gratitude,
Parvathi
Updates from Parvathi
Good news. Because of your gifts ($135 in total) I made the first payment toward fitting and training sessions. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
stay strong, Parvathi. Hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
So sorry you're going through this, Parvathi. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care
Hang in there, Parvathi. Your post was clear and honest. Wish I lived closer to Ho so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Rajkot.
