Independence for Nova: specialist standing frame
Nova needs a specialist standing frame that the health system won't fund; the cost is $600.
🇬🇧 Leeds, England, United Kingdom538 views
Nova lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at Leeds General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $600.
Her current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment Nova could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $600 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $320
• Fitting and training sessions: $155
• Delivery and set-up: $125
