A cochlear implant processor upgrade would give Nebiyu independence - we're $400 away.

Nebiyu lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the Jimma Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $400. His current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment Nebiyu could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $400 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $340 • Fitting and training sessions: $20 • Delivery and set-up: $25 • First-year servicing plan: $15 If you're reading this, thank you. - Yeshi
