I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at Kisumu General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $500.
My current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $500 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $65
• pair of hearing aids: $380
• Fitting and training sessions: $55
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
