Nairobi
I live with cerebral palsy. My occupational therapist at the Nairobi Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,250. My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 4 weeks. With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $1,250 goes: • prosthetic leg: $1,100 • Fitting and training sessions: $55 • Delivery and set-up: $25 • First-year servicing plan: $70 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Nafula
